Safer Living at NRC

Northfield Retirement Community is dedicated to keeping everyone in our community healthy – from residents to staff to visitors.

To do so, we've made accommodations around campus to help our residents – current and new alike – are able to stay healthy, feel at home and live life to the fullest, especially as we adapt to a new normal with the coronavirus (COVID-19).

To support a healthier, lower risk environment, we are changing campus happenings that traditionally occur in more congregated spaces. Some of these changes include:

  • Individualizing transportation and public outings.
  • Individualizing campus 3:00 coffee hours.
  • Streaming our traditional activities on NRC TV.
  • Streaming chapel services on NRC TV and offering weekly bulletins online to encourage individual worship even when we're apart.
  • Offering fitness classes individually instead of in a group setting.
  • Offering visits so residents can connect with loved ones in a safer, lower risk fashion.
  • Restricting resident access into areas of campus that they do not reside. Please abide by posted signs and closed doors.

For resident safety, NRC has temporarily closed public spaces and amenities, such as the café, buffet, ParkView Clinic, theater and community dining rooms.
