Safety. Health. Wellbeing.

Please know that maintaining the safety, health and wellbeing of all community members is our number-one priority! We are committed to keeping you up to date on any other changes due to the Minnesota Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control requirements with regard to COVID-19.

NRC has been offering vaccinations to our residents and staff as they are made available by the Minnesota Department of Health. Learn more about the vaccinations and when they are administered on our campus on our new vaccination page.

Current COVID-19 Situation

Communications Update

We are doing everything we can to minimize the spread of this virus within our setting. We continue our aggressive proactive infection control measures and screening procedures of residents and staff. In addition, we continue to follow all recommended guidance from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and the Minnesota Department of Health to protect our residents and staff from this virus. We are working in collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Health to ensure we are taking all appropriate steps at this time.

Visitor Information

We understand how vital it is for families and loved ones to reconnect in person. We also must prioritize the safety of our community during the evolving and changing circumstances.

Visitation Status: All areas of campus have resumed indoor visitations.

Reservations are not required for indoor visits. Visitors must use the main entry door to the building they are visiting, as self-screening prior to entry is required. If a visitor has not used the screening machine previously, we recommend contacting us to coordinate your visit with a staff member that will provide step by step assistance screening in. Visits are to take place in resident rooms only. Please do not hold visits in common areas, hallways, or courtyards. Reminder: Masks are required in hallways and common areas at all times.

Visiting Policy

We have been working on developing policies and procedures, as aligned with recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health regarding Essential Caregivers and visitations.

COVID Testing

All staff and residents of the Northfield Retirement Community Care Center and Assisted Living are tested regularly based on recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health. Other residents and family members have also asked about testing opportunities.

The Minnesota Department of Health offers free COVID tests to Minnesota residents. If you have COVID-like symptoms please call your health care provider immediately to determine the best testing approach for your circumstances.

There are two options for tests: testing at home or testing at a community center. To learn more, please visit the state's Covid Response website. Go to Find Testing Locations for details about community testing sites and instructions for requesting an at-home testing kit.
