  NRC is a welcoming community to people of all faith backgrounds. Recognizing the importance of spiritual life,NRC employs a full-time Chaplain who is called to this campus to be present with and walk alongside residents, staff, and their families through times of blessing and loss, sorrow and joy. The Chaplain plans and leads daily devotions, weekly on-site worship services in our Chapel, Bible studies, one-on-one visits, hospital visits, memorial and funeral services, and other spiritual care events with residents, staff, and volunteers. The NRC Chaplain also helps coordinate educational and cultural events that encourage spiritual well-being.

  NRC's Chaplain offers occasions for caring conversations and prayer sessions through both individual and small-group settings on campus, along with the spiritual care providers from residents’ home congregations and hospice chaplains. Private Communion is available upon request.

  NRC is also home to Pathways of Faith Park, a gathering space for our campus community and the entire Northfield community to relax, restore and spiritually renew.
  

  Ecumenical Services are Held in the Chapel and Broadcast on Channel 105:

  • 10:30 a.m. Sunday Worship Service with Holy Communion

  • Semi-monthly visits with Holy Communion from St. Dominic Catholic Church (Second and Fourth Tuesdays)

  • 3:30 p.m. Monthly Vespers service for residents and staff (Second Thursday)

  • 3:30 p.m. Lenten Services (all Wednesdays during Lent)

  • 3:30 p.m. Holy Week Services (Holy Thursday and Good Friday)

  • 3:30 p.m. Thanksgiving Eve service

  • 3:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service

  • 3:30 p.m. Christmas Day service

  Fitness

  Staying physically fit is important, no matter what age you have attained, to keep you feeling your best. NRC’s Fountain Fitness Center offers a complete health regime. Exercise classes are offered regularly, and our LifeTrail system of exercise stations and groomed walking paths surround our campus. Residents also find peace and quiet walking along our Pathways of Faith Park. Plenty of indoor hallways are available for walking in inclement weather.

  Corner Clinic

  Our on-campus clinic offers a weekly wellness clinic where residents can get basic wellness services, such as lab draws, and have their health-related questions answered by a registered nurse. The Corner Clinic also provides dental and podiatry services.

  Northwoods Salon

  Our full-service professional, licensed hairstyling staff will learn how you like your hair done and pamper you from head to toe. We feature affordable, natural products and are open to the public. Our services include cuts, styles, perms and even pedicures.

  Nygaard Theater

  Enjoy the latest movies in our state-of- the-art theater. A large-screen television and movie projection screen, coupled with our surround sound system, makes every show come alive. The theater offers several motion pictures each week as well as educational classes. Personal listening devices are available.

  Library

  Our library offers plenty of new and classic reading material for a variety of tastes.

  Wireless (wi-fi) Internet

  Wireless (wi-fi) internet is available throughout campus for residents and guests.

  Lounges and Sunrooms

  There are many locations throughout the campus where residents and visitors can relax and socialize. Large, small and cozy lounges, garden areas, sunrooms and patios offer a wide variety of both indoor and outdoor opportunities for reflection and refuge.
