NRC Golf Classic to be Held on June 4!
Northfield Retirement Community (NRC) invites the community to participate in its 6th Annual NRC Golf Classic, held on Monday, June 4, at Northfield Golf Club. The NRC Golf Classic is a fundraising event put on by the Northfield Retirement Community Foundation and is designed to provide broad support for the NRC mission of delivering premier living environments and outreach services to aging individuals.Event organizer and NRC Vice President of Long Term Care Operations Tom Nielsen said, “Last year’s event went extraordinarily well and we’re looking forward to building on its success. The Northfield community – those who are familiar with NRC, those who know us by reputation alone, as well as others – has been tremendously supportive and we’re anticipating a full house once again this year.”
In addition to supporting the NRC mission, proceeds from the event also serve to fund the organization’s special projects. The Northfield Retirement Community Foundation exists to provide support for NRC’s mission, programs and services by raising monies through grants, appeals, campaigns and individual gifts.
The event features 18 holes of golf held in a scramble format along with lunch and an elegant banquet dinner. There are multiple prize opportunities for participants as well, including a $10,000 hole-in-one prize and a $10,000 putting contest.
Nielsen continued, “It really is just a great day. The opportunity to golf with friends is wonderful, of course. But even more inspiring is seeing the commitment of our many colleagues, sponsors, volunteers, family members and others who come out to support our mission. The event is about raising funds, yes, but it’s also about celebrating all those who make it possible for us to serve older adults.”
The NRC Golf Classic begins at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 4. Registration and lunch begin at 11 a.m. and the awards ceremony and dinner take place at 5:30 p.m. The event is made possible by major sponsors New Horizon Foods and US Foods.
