NRC Receives Two Recognitions for Quality Senior Care
Posted on December 28, 2017
Northfield Retirement Community is the recipient of two ratings recognizing nursing home excellence and high quality care and services. NRC has achieved a five-star overall rating with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Nursing Home Comparison rating system. The rating system, which takes into account health inspections, staffing and quality care measures, was developed by CMS to help consumers, their families and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and ranges from one to five stars.
- Health inspections information was gathered from the last three years of onsite inspections.
- A staffing score was composed of the number of hours of care provided to each resident each day by nursing staff.
- Quality measures included 16 different physical and clinical measures for nursing home residents.
Nursing homes with five stars are considered to have much above average quality. Nursing home ratings are released on a quarterly basis through Nursing Home Compare, an online database that’s accessible to the public and shows the star ratings for each nursing home. You can compare nursing homes at https://www.medicare.gov/nursinghomecompare/search.html.
U.S. News & World Report also recognized NRC as one of the 99 best nursing homes in Minnesota. U.S. News used data from the CMS Nursing Home Compare program in their evaluation of more than 15,000 nursing homes across the country. The 99 nursing homes on the list achieved overall ratings of 4.5 or greater and were considered “top performing.”
“NRC is honored to be recognized as one of Minnesota’s top senior care providers,” says NRC President and CEO Kyle Nordine. “Our entire team is dedicated to providing the best care, services and quality of life possible to seniors in our community.”
