NRC and FiftyNorth Present "Living Well with Chronic Conditions"

NORTHFIELD (September 9, 2019) — Northfield Retirement Community and FiftyNorth are teaming up to offer a series of programs in Northfield for interested community members called, “Living Well with Chronic Conditions.” These evidence-based programs help people with chronic conditions live healthier and fuller lives. The six-week workshop series helps people feel better, be in control, and do the things they want to do.

Together with other attendees, class participants will learn and practice ways to improve how they take care of themselves and enjoy life. Discussion areas include self-management skills, practical ways to cope with pain and fatigue, better nutrition and exercise choices, new treatment options, and methods for speaking with a health care provider or family member about health.

Classes are every Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., starting October 4 and ending November 8. They will be held in the Northfield Retirement Community’s Fellowship Hall, 900 Cannon Valley Drive, Northfield, MN 55057. These classes are at no cost to participants and open to the public, but pre-registration is required by Wednesday, October 2. To register for this program, call ParkView at 507-664-7359 or visit yourjuniper.org.

Classes are held in partnership with Rice County Public Health – Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP). A cash wellness incentive will be offered to participants who complete the program.
