NRC Resident-Staff Story Featured in Northfield News
A profile covering the bond formed between Shawna Swedin, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at NRC, and Bobbi Rankin, a ParkView East resident and former nurse, was featured in the Northfield News.
It was through the educational partnership between NRC and Northfield Public Schools that Shawna was introduced to senior health care and began her journey into the field. When Shawna was just a junior in high school she enrolled in Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training at NRC. During this training, Shawna formed relationships with mentors and residents. One special person – Bobbi – just happens to be both.
Shawna passed her Board of Nursing examination, the final step to becoming an LPN, at the beginning of June. She started working full time at NRC earlier this summer.
"NRC is a great facility that offers so many opportunities. If you want to be in the health care field, this is the place to be,” Shawna said.
